TANG Su-mei 唐蘇梅

Through immersive installations and performative actions, I explore how the body becomes a medium for measuring and transforming relationships between image, space, and memory.

My practice combines painting, performance, and interactive installations, focusing on shifting perceptual states and reconfiguring modes of seeing and being. Rather than producing fixed images, my work creates unstable environments in which perception continuously evolves through the presence of the viewer.

In recent years, my research has moved toward personal memory and family history, extending into the relationship between Taiwanese culture and Indigenous (Amis) heritage. I seek to develop new forms of translation between embodied experience and cultural narratives.

My work has been exhibited across Europe and Asia, including Marseille, Lyon, Vienna, Shanghai, and Suzhou. I have collaborated with the Conservatoire de Lyon and the artist collective Gelitin in Vienna, and participated in residencies such as La Déviation and La Silence du Monde in France.
